my reflection I had to write a good story that makes sense. I did well on punctuation. I did not do well on spelling.

WALT: Identify punctuation when reading

It can be tricky to read with expression as I forget to change my voice when I see speech marks. 

WAL: Basic facts

I competed against Justin and Brooklyn on slide maths. I had to look at the questions and then slide the answer into the middle. 

It can be tricky to count so fast in my head. 

WALT: Use a range of different materials

LOOK AT MY ART FOR THE SCHOOL EXHIBITION.

I have used dye, collage and pen to create each leaf. 

WALT: Describe 3D shapes

We know that 3D shapes:

• are solids
• have edges
• have vertices
• have faces

Look at our 3D shapes coming to LIFE on QUIVER VISION!

Dominic says, "It can be tricky to count how many faces and how many vertices."

WALT: Use the contents and index page to answer questions

I am so proud that I can use the index and contents page to look for key words and find the answers. It is so easy!

WALT: use spelling patterns (ing)

For this activity we were learning about the 'ing' sound.
I found it tricky to draw the picture.

WALT:Use the space around us

Room 30 have loved going to Youth Town. 

We had FUN, LISTENED and LEARNT some very fun skills like:

• following instructions
• team work
• finding/using space

WALT: Tell time (o'clock/half past)

Dominic says, "I am learning that the little hand is the hour hand, the long hand is the minute hand and the third hand is the second hand. "

WALT:Answer inferential questions

We have worked hard to use use the text and illustrations to answer questions.

We sometimes find it tricky to answer questions that make us think outside of the box. We then have to remember to use our own experience and the story to think of answers.

Dominic says, "It can be tricky to understand some of the words in the story so then it is hard to answer the questions. 

WALT: Use capital letters and full stops

 To celebrate Mothers' Day we used Tagul to make a note to our Mum's. 

Dominic says, "The next step is to spell HFW's on my own."

IALT: use interesting words

Dominic says, "I used adjectives to make it interesting."

WALT: answer literal questions

In Reading this term we have been learning:

• to answer questions using the text and the pictures
• to understand what is a compound word
• to identify and understand punctuation in texts
• to understand the features of fiction/non-fiction texts

IAL: How to read graphs and talk about them

(We have used the Statistics activities on Mathletics to practice what we have been learning.)

For our Maths Strand this term we have been learning all about Statistics.

We have collected different kinds of data and assembled this information onto the graphs.

The next time you visit our classroom check-out the different graphs we have made on the walls.

IALT: Get in and out of the pool safely

We have been learning how to get in and out of the pool using the ladders and the edge of the pool. We know how to use both hands to support us and to turn around before getting off the ladder.
